TEKNO - Acer has just released Chromebook laptop (Chrome OS based devices) in Indonesia. No half-hearted, the Taiwanese company is directly released three series laptops at once, namely 11, 14, and R11.
"Today we released Chromebook 11 and 14 that looks like a regular laptop, and R11 can be folded," said Commercial Product Manager and Business Development Head Acer Indonesia, Riko Gunawan, at the launch of the three laptops, Jakarta, Thursday (1/12 / 2016).
"But this Chromebook our business to business, we do not sell at retail. Our main target is indeed released Chromebook for education, so it is not for general users, "he added.
According to Rico, the Chromebook is intentionally positioned to users in the education segment or schools. Features and software in it was already set to suit both these objectives.
"Everything has been using Intel processors. It also can be added to Google Apps Management Console & fo Education and Acer Classroom Manager. This is to facilitate teaching and learning program, "said Rico.
Of the three laptops, the most advanced is the Acer Chromebook R11. The reason is manifold convertible laptop, can be folded up to 360 degrees and into a tablet.
R11 size is quite small, the screen in the form of touch panel measuring 11.6 inches and weighs only 1.25 kilograms. As for processing, embedding Acer Intel Celeron processor.
Next is the Chromebook 14, which has a screen size of 14 inches with Full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels). In addition, this laptop has an Intel Celeron processor, 4 GB RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory.
Lastly, the Chromebook 11 which has a 11.6-inch screen with HD resolution (1366x768 pixels). The laptop is equipped with an Intel Celeron processor, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB of internal memory.
On price, R11 Chromebook priced at USD 4.799 million, Chromebook 14 sold USD 3,999 million, and the Chromebook 11 released at a price of Rp 3,399 million.
