TEKNOLOGY - M5 through EOS, Canon began "serious" in the mirrorless camera market. Different from the products of previous Canon mirrorless camera, the EOS M5 segment targeting experienced photographers, including DSLR users.

Sintra Wong, Manager Canon Image Communication Division Datascrip as a distributor of Canon products in Indonesia, acknowledged that positioning could result in cannibalization market by EOS EOS 80D M5.
Moreover, both cameras share a lot of the same technology, such as the APS-C sensor 24 megapixels and technology focus Dual-Pixel AF. EOS M5 is like the EOS 80D in the form of a more concise and comparable price in the range of USD 14 million (body only).
Nevertheless, Sintra optimistic EOS 80D still has its own advantages that will make it more desirable among users of a particular camera, compared to the EOS M5.
"Mass just journalists. DSLR still comparatively more solid and comfortable grip than mirrorless camera, "said Sintra while speaking at the launch of the EOS M5 in Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Thursday (12/01/2016).
Besides the factor of the body stronger, according to him, the operation speed of a DSLR camera is still superior overall mirrorless camera making it suitable for users who need a responsive camera.
On the contrary, such mirrorless EOS M5 excels in terms of physical size smaller so it's easier to carry. This advantage is also supported by the lens mirrorless Canon EF-M is also more compact than a DSLR lens.
"The issue of user interface, both (DSLR and mirrorless Canon) something like so that users will be more familiar," said Sintra. "Looking ahead, I think the DSLR and mirrorless Canon will not kill each other, but complementary," he concluded.
In the world market, the popularity of mirrorless cameras increasingly shifting DSLR cameras.
