TEKNOLOGY - Research conducted by cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab in 12 countries showed four reasons why people leave social networks like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and so on. The biggest reason is that social networking is considered simply a waste of time.
In its official blog, as quoted KompasTekno, Sunday (04/12/2016), Kaspersky Lab conducted an online survey on 4,831 respondents. Question translated into nine languages, namely English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, and Turkish, and is programmed using Poll Daddy.
Links surveys distributed using paid promotions on Facebook and Twitter, and here are four great reasons why people want to leave the social network, according to the survey.
First, as much as 39 percent of respondents believe that they are wasting time on social networks. In fact, nearly 78 percent stated that they were considering leaving the social network.
Second, 30 percent respondel stated they do not want their activities monitored by the giant technology company. As is known, some important data we submit to social networks, such as e-mail, phone number, and so on.
Thirdly, five percent of respondents said wanted to leave the social network because their account has been hacked.
Fourth and last, four percent of respondents want to leave the social network because of fatigue with the "haters" or haters who always infest (bully) it.

The tendency to stay
Although there is a tendency to leave the social network, but people feel no compulsion to stay. Someone persisted using social networks such as Facebook and Instagram because of the fear of losing digital memory and contact with his friends.
Most (62 percent) believe that they will lose contact with his friends when leaving the social network. As many as 21 percent of respondents did not feel worried about their friends, but fear can not restore digital memories such as photos and videos that have been uploaded on social networking when leaving.
To that end, Kaspersky Lab makes an application called FFForget that can be used to backup all the memorable photos or videos from social networks.
Applications will be keeping in a safe container and is encrypted and is expected to provide the freedom for a person to leave the social network whenever they want, without feeling lost.
"With FFForget, we strive to create solutions so that individuals do not need to fear loss of memory because of a hacked account," said Evgeny Chereshnev, Head of Social Media Kaspersky Lab ..
FFForget planned to be launched in 2017. Interested users can register on ffforget.kaspersky.com.
